I have been very busy since before Christmas and have had a pause from blogging, but I met this beautiful baby and her parents this weekend and thought she would be perfect as a sneak preview blog post:
I have lots more sessions to blog from the past few months – I’m looking forward to sorting through and finding my favourites again…
A recent family visit to Hampton Court was the inspiration for these children’s photos. It was nice to get out of London and enjoy the beautiful house and gardens. My children enjoyed playing in the Autumn leaves and pretending to eat and drink at the dining table in the great hall.

I am finally blogging the photographs of this gorgeous family from earlier in the season. I really enjoyed working with these identical twin boys. We were lucky in that we were able to shoot both outdoors and in to get a good variety of photographs:
Their eyes are beautiful and their hair is incredibly cute:
I think this family chose a great display option for these photographs. Along with some other frames they chose a beautiful 9-aperture frame in white, which meant that they could showcase several photographs together, adding to the overall effect.

I love seasonal family portraits, and the beautiful colours of Autumn leaves make a gorgeous backdrop for children’s photographs, especially in the mellow light that often occurs at this time of year.
Even in Central London leaves are a big part of childhood play, and I have spent many hours with my children finding them, ‘spending’ them in return for imaginary groceries, and collecting them to make colourful pictures. It was a pleasure to watch this little girl discover the new sights and experiences of the season for herself.
This is my favourite – she has just just been throwing leaves…

Here are some informal family portraits from a recent shoot in Marylebone. I like to work with families at home as it allows the children to relax and be at ease which always makes for better photographs. It’s amazing how different all the portraits can be in mood. Literally from one moment to the next I can go from capturing very quiet and thoughtful images:
