Sarah needed a portrait for an award ceremony. This is one of my favourites from the afternoon:
Here are a few photographs from a headshot session for three local psychotherapists who have consulting rooms nearby in Wimpole Street. They have a new website and were looking to commission some headshots for all three practitioners. They wanted consistency in lighting, background and overall feel of the shots; as well as good expressions.
I aim to not only get a professional and flattering photo of each person, but also to give a feel for their character and personality. I usually find that we get the best shots when the person being photographed has had time to relax and we have got to know one another a little; and I really appreciated the chance to talk to each of them about their therapeutic approach and how it all works.

I recently had a lovely morning working in Maida Vale with Sara Brazendale, who wanted a set of business headshots for her website and online presence. Sara was an absolute pleasure to work with, and, as we work in a similar field (photography for me and video production for her) there was more to talk about than we had time for. We also have children of a similar age, so once we had ‘done’ work we moved onto swapping information and tips about local places and events that are good for children and parents.
(Sara’s make-up and styling is by talented make-up artist Renu Williams, who is also based in Maida Vale.)
I really enjoyed meeting Sara and we are planning to keep in touch. In fact I am selfishly hoping that she is not too busy in the next few months to work with me on a promotional video for my website!
