Earlier this week I photographed some business headshots and portraits for a talented rug designer based on the South Bank in London.
Teresa Collins works in a sunny studio shop in London’s iconic Oxo Tower. The studio is full of beautiful rugs, framed designs, coloured wools and silks and carefully chosen mood boards. Teresa told me that her love of colour and textiles stem from her childhood in India, and she now draws inspiration for the colours and tones of her designs from lanscapes, both countryside and urban.
During the relaxed photo shoot, we had a long chat about her influences and how she works; finding common ground in our ideas about drawing, use of colour, and the creative partnership between artist/designer and client.
Teresa’s rugs are works of art. The colours are restrained and subtle and the materials – wool and silk – are rich and luxurious. I highly recommend a visit to Studio Teresa Collins on the South Bank to see them in real life.
Teresa contacted me because was looking for professional business headshots to use on her website and for interviews and publicity. These portraits are examples of the kind of work that I can offer small businesses, artisans, designers and artists who want a professional photographer who is willing to take the time to work with them to achieve exactly the look they are aiming for. There are more examples of creative and flattering business headshots here in my galleries on the website.

I recently had a lovely morning working in Maida Vale with Sara Brazendale, who wanted a set of business headshots for her website and online presence. Sara was an absolute pleasure to work with, and, as we work in a similar field (photography for me and video production for her) there was more to talk about than we had time for. We also have children of a similar age, so once we had ‘done’ work we moved onto swapping information and tips about local places and events that are good for children and parents.
(Sara’s make-up and styling is by talented make-up artist Renu Williams, who is also based in Maida Vale.)
I really enjoyed meeting Sara and we are planning to keep in touch. In fact I am selfishly hoping that she is not too busy in the next few months to work with me on a promotional video for my website!
These are a couple of my favourites from Sara’s business headshot session. If you would like similar headshots for your business please get in touch via this contact form.
