What to expect for your headshot session
Relaxed and Informal

Headshot sessions are relaxed and unpressured. They take place either in my Fitzrovia studio or outdoors, or a combination of both.

Acting headshots are classic portraits, with good lighting, composition and expression. They will have some editing to remove spots or temporary blemishes, but will not be oversmoothed or fundamentally changed from the original. The aim is to get a striking and engaging photograph that really looks like you.

If you would like to book or just to find out more please get in touch.

How the session works

We will start with a drink and a chat, and take frequent breaks. If you are unsure as to which poses or angles are most photogenic I will coach you as to how to sit and stand. I’ll give you direction as to what expressions work best and how to look and feel relaxed.

You will be able to see what we are getting as we go along, and give feedback and suggestions. We will continue until we are both happy that we have the shots we want.

Acting Headshot sessions last between 2 and 3 hours in total. Business headshots or artist’s portraits usually take about 1 to 2 hours.

Preparation for your headshot

Most people prepare for their headshots by making sure they are well rested and have had a recent haircut or hairstyle. I recommend bringing a good selection of ironed clothes, and for men, shaving equipment if they want to change their look midway through the shoot. Upon booking you will get more detailed clothing suggestions and we can have a chat and answer any questions you may have.

If you would like to book a hair stylist/make-up artist for your shoot please let me know and I can arrange it.

The full headshot session is £249.

A full shoot will last 2 to 3 hours – possibly longer if we want to try for more shots. You can have 3 or 4 outfit changes and try out several looks.

You will get 4 retouched files, ready for print and web. Further edits are £20 per file. We can do indoor and outdoor portraits (weather permitting) and will use natural light and studio lights for maximum effect. You will get head and shoulders shots and some 3/4 length shots.

Student rates are £199 for the above.

The 2 hour headshot session is £175 and includes 2 outfit changes and is studio based or outdoors. Two edited files are included.

Student rates are £150 for the above.
