This print is made in a similar way to a traditional etching, where a plate is created, inked by hand, and put through the press.

This print is part of a series of studies I made of Roses last autumn. I was fascinated by the texture of the petals, still full of the softness and curves of the rose in full bloom, but with the slightest hint of decay at the edges. The subject, and the play of light and shadow reminds me of the memento mori flower and fruit still lifes of the Dutch painters.

Prints are made to order and will be sent out when fully dried and flattened - usually within ten working days.
